Caitlin's Gold Award Project
"I wanted my Girl Scout Gold Award project to be centered around making a real difference in my community. My project collected donations for a local organization, Project Homeless Connect (PHC). PHC helps people experiencing homelessness by providing a shelter, events, and basic necessities. The project was aimed to be within my high school in April of 2020. When schools shut down, I switched gears and made the project entirely online. I would like to thank my team, who helped push through unforeseen problems as well as everyone who donated and chose to help. The project can be recreated by any high school student or Girl Scout, by following a link to the manual to the right. To learn more about either Girl Scouts and the Gold Award, Project Homeless Connect (PHC), or how my team started the project, keep reading." |

What is Project Homeless Connect?
All of my donations went to to Project Homeless Connect (PHC), an organization dedicated to bringing communities together and promote solutions that remedy the homelessness of neighbors by hosting events throughout the year that are designed to connect individuals in need to services and supports such as:
Dental care, vision screening and glasses made onsite, haircuts, food, clothing, and connections to needed housing and social services.
